The U.S. Treasury expects to pay off $78 billion of debt in the third fiscal quarter, compared to an earlier projection, given in February, that it would pay off $40 billion, the government said Monday. This will be the largest amount of debt the Treasury has paid off in any quarter since April-June 2007.

Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI don't know why anyone would think that a handgun that only a domestic abuser can use is somehow "safer". Sounds like it will leave some women in virtual slavery.
Richard
In the scenario you provide, an abused woman is more likely to stab a man...prodded into by the abuse...often while he is sleeping.
DeleteBut does tha tscenario outweigh all the preventable deaths of children getting access to a gun, and accidentally shooting their friend or themselves or the local school or that an attacker could not turn your gun on you.
I have a key to my car which I don't want people driving. Why not the same for a gun?
Makes some sense. We don't do the gun thing at all. But I'll have to be nicer or get rid of all the knives now ;).
DeleteAny step to making guns safer is a good thing. :)
DeleteThere is nothing we can do about knives!
