Feds pursuing 'multiple' election fraud investigations, top prosecutor says

First Assistant U.S. Atty. Bill Essayli on Friday morning said his office "has multiple election fraud investigations underway," in coordination with the FBI in Los Angeles.

Essayli's remarks, posted to X, seemed to be in response to President Trump alleging in his own social media post late Wednesday that Democrats in California were "cheating" in the state's primary election, and that there was an investigation underway in Essayli's office.

President Trump said he’s hopeful acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte will shrink the size of his new office, saying it’s “too big.”

The comments came in an interview the president gave The Wall Street Journal amid controversy over his installation of Pulte, who will also remain at the helm of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, a perch the acting director of national intelligence used to refer mortgage fraud prosecutions of Trump’s enemies.

Alaska Is Trying To Preserve Itself

The Trump administration on Friday auctioned off rights to drill in a pristine wildlife refuge in Alaska, but the lease sale attracted just two bidders on a few tracts of land.

Of the approximately 60 tracts of land opened up for leasing by the Trump administration, just five received bids. Only HEX Energy and the state-owned Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority bid on tracts.

Overall, the lease sale netted about $3.7 million, half of which will go to the state of Alaska.
