Widespread air quality alerts are in effect on Friday as smoke from wildfires burning across Canada continues to affect much of the Great Lakes and the Northeast regions and reaches further south into the Mid-Atlantic.

The National Weather Service issued air quality alerts in at least 18 states on Friday.

SAVE stands for “Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements” and is part of the SAVE America Act that President Donald Trump has pressured Republicans to pass, even though Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has said he does not have enough support to pass it.

While he said he would be willing to talk about three women involved in lawsuits against him, Black repeatedly declined to answer questions about how many nondisclosure agreements he was involved in, citing the advice of his attorneys.
