Count former President Trump among those who are backing Louisiana’s controversial and first-in-the-nation law that will mandate classrooms from elementary school through college prominently display the Ten Commandments.

“I LOVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, PRIVATE SCHOOLS, AND MANY OTHER PLACES, FOR THAT MATTER,” Trump wrote this week on his online platform Truth Social. “READ IT — HOW CAN WE, AS A NATION, GO WRONG??? In their first Second Amendment case since they expanded gun rights in 2022, the justices ruled 8-1 in favor of a 1994 ban on firearms for people under restraining orders to stay away from their spouses or partners. The justices reversed a ruling from the federal appeals court in New Orleans that had struck down the law.

Many of L.A.'s Homeless Lives Are About To Change

A grand opening ceremony was held Wednesday for a high-rise building in downtown Los Angeles that will house homeless individuals.

There are 278 units in the 19-story development known as the Weingart Tower. It's intended to help people currently without shelter on Skid Row and it will be L.A.'s largest permanent support housing project...It's considered affordable housing, but the cost to build this type of project still adds up. Each unit costs nearly $600,000 and it's being funded by taxpayers.

The $165 million project is receiving permanent financing from Proposition HHH, which voters overwhelmingly passed in 2016. The new tower is also receiving state housing funds and $56 million in state tax credits.

Florida and Cuba. Funny story: In 1985 I took a cheap night flight from Miami to Merida, Mexico on Aero Mexico. There were only about 30 people on the plane. As we passed Havana, the pilot pointed it out and everyone but me rushed to the left side of the aircraft screaming, HAVANA HAVANA!! The aircraft tilted at least 45 degrees. Stuff flew everywhere. I was glad I had my seatbelt on.
