Former Trump White House attorney Ty Cobb said Thursday that Judge Aileen Cannon is a “partisan, petty prima donna.”

When talking about a Friday hearing on former President Trump challenging special counsel Jack Smith’s appointment in the Mar-a-Lago documents case, Cobb said on CNN’s “OutFront” with anchor Erin Burnett that “the law requires that” Cannon “validate” Smith’s “appointment and not disqualify him.”

Count former President Trump among those who are backing Louisiana’s controversial and first-in-the-nation law that will mandate classrooms from elementary school through college prominently display the Ten Commandments.

“I LOVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, PRIVATE SCHOOLS, AND MANY OTHER PLACES, FOR THAT MATTER,” Trump wrote this week on his online platform Truth Social. “READ IT — HOW CAN WE, AS A NATION, GO WRONG??? The Supreme Court on Friday upheld a federal gun control law that is intended to protect victims of domestic violence.

In their first Second Amendment case since they expanded gun rights in 2022, the justices ruled 8-1 in favor of a 1994 ban on firearms for people under restraining orders to stay away from their spouses or partners. The justices reversed a ruling from the federal appeals court in New Orleans that had struck down the law.
