Hurricane Melissa

I might have gotten 2 hours sleep last night. Bands of the hurricane lightly battered us throughout yesterday but last night around 9pm I thought the sky was falling on my little casita`s metal roof. It went on for hours. I was scared. Many places flooded less than a mile away, including Taco`s veterinarian's office.

I went to Facebook during this horror and saw so many nearby villages flooded.

Our dead end street is on a slight slant and it looked like a river last night and my yard looked like a lake. We are on the edge of a ranch and the water flowed down to their grazing land which is now a lake...see video below.

My heart breaks for Jamaica. I fear the worst.

The video below was taken from the balcony, next door, this morning.

I am non compos mentis after last night. I will post a new edition tomorrow.

Peace and quiet.

  2. I'm so sorry you got hit by Melissa! The historic catastrophe hitting Jamaica has gotten very limited concern on national US news. The devastation aftermath will get more coverage in the form of disaster porn. It always does! 🤬
