I am so old, I remember listening to the 1967 football game between Alabama and FSU. Everyone feared it would be a blowout. The final score was 37-37. FSU put on an aerial show and great ground game, never seen by Bama or the Bear. "What the hell is going on out there?" - Coach Bear BryantFSU further ruffled the SEC feathers in that 1967 season by beating all 3 SEC teams they played AND they went to the Gator Bowl and tied Penn State.
Thank you, Coach Bill Peterson.That's when the SEC media sports world and beyond started to mock FSU. FSU's hometown sports writer for the Tallahassee Democrat, Bill McGrotha, wrote this: “Always remember that when the Blue Bloods of college football worked to keep FSU shut out, FSU did not merely stand outside, knocking patiently.
