I am so old, I remember listening to the 1967 football game between Alabama and FSU. Everyone feared it would be a blowout. The final score was 37-37. FSU put on an aerial show and great ground game, never seen by Bama or the Bear. "What the hell is going on out there?" - Coach Bear BryantFSU further ruffled the SEC feathers in that 1967 season by beating all 3 SEC teams they played AND they went to the Gator Bowl and tied Penn State.
Thank you, Coach Bill Peterson.That's when the SEC media sports world and beyond started to mock FSU. FSU's hometown sports writer for the Tallahassee Democrat, Bill McGrotha, wrote this: “Always remember that when the Blue Bloods of college football worked to keep FSU shut out, FSU did not merely stand outside, knocking patiently. They kicked down the door, marched inside, took an empty seat at the table, and casually put their feet upon it."

Dang! I learned something new. After reading your Buffalo/Bison comment I looked it up and found out there are NO buffalo in the U.S. Only American Bison. There are but two buffalo species in the world: Water Buffalo in Asia and Cape Buffalo in Africa. Home on the Range must be rewritten immediately!
