Iowa GOP chair predicts ‘robust turnout’ at caucuses despite frigid conditions
...“I really think now — as long as there’s not ice that actually makes it impossible to travel and as long as we don’t have whiteout conditions, snow actually falling — I think temperatures are the least of my concern in terms of depressing turnout. The CBS News/YouGov poll found that former President Trump, former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis each edge out Biden in a head-to-head matchup. While Trump remains the clear favorite in the GOP primary, it was Haley that fared the best against Biden.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) went after former President Trump on Friday, demanding in a letter that he return about $7.8 million Trump’s companies received from foreign governments while he was in office.

House Oversight and Accountability Committee Democrats first made the allegation in a report last week, claiming Trump’s companies accepted money from foreign entities in 20 countries and alleging the payments violate the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution.

Roger Stone has contested Mediaite’s reporting this week regarding comments he made on tape floating the assassination of two members of Congress.

“I never spoke about assassinating anyone,” Stone wrote in an X post Thursday. “Fake Mediaite can’t produce the recording they claim to have.” In another post he wrote that Mediaite “has produced NO audio of me threatening 2 Dem Congressmen. Where is it? Post it  !”

Mediaite is now publishing an excerpt of the audio, which was recorded in person at Caffe Europa, a public restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, weeks before the 2020 election. 

So there's an audio tape of Roger Stone plotting to kill Rep Eric Swalwell and Rep Jerry Nadler in 2020 and now all of his right wing militia buddies are in prison for storming the Capitol on January 6th and trying to murder congress.

Former President Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba defended the immunity argument on Sean Hannity’s show brought by a Trump attorney during a Tuesday hearing, saying that Trump “didn’t kill anyone.” 

Trump’s attorney John Sauer said Tuesday, during the hearing that reviewed a motion to potentially toss his election interference charges, that the former president should have immunity from all prosecution to overturn the 2020 election since he was not convicted by the Senate, and because all of his conduct, currently under investigation, was part of his duty as the sitting commander in chief at the time.

First lady Jill Biden defended her son Hunter Biden against an onslaught of attacks from Republicans in an interview that aired Thursday, saying the barrage of allegations against him has been “cruel.”

“I think what they are doing to Hunter is cruel,” the first lady said in an interview with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski. “And I’m really proud of how Hunter has rebuilt his life after addiction.
