Trump's $92 Million Parade Is "In The Works"
The Associated Press obtained plans for a celebration of the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary on President Donald Trump’s birthday, complete with helicopters and thousands of soldiers. Last month, the AP reported that discussions of a parade on Trump’s birthday were in the works, but had few details to share, though a price tag of about $92 million had been floated and criticized.

I understand Trump is planning a military parade to celebrate his birthday, just like his pal and fellow dictator Kim Jong Un. Cost to taxpayers: About $91 million. Way to make Donald's ego great(er) again. - Stephen King

  2. 🥺 It is really hard to laugh (even at superglue marble) these days. I don't live in El Paso anymore. I live in the designated military zone patrolled by soldiers from Ft. Bliss. Trump "declared" (without actual legal authority) this week that military troops will be in charge of detaining migrants at the border. That is itself a violation of the Posse Comitatus Act which does not allow the military to act as law enforcement on US soil. So, Trump turned El Paso into a military base with no defined boundary! The heavily-armed troops roam the border in intimidating Stryker vehicles. I live a quarter-mile from what used to be the border (looking at it from my balcony right now!) which means I am now trespassing on Ft. Bliss!! These troops have the added authority over "crowd control." So, if I protest this incursion of troops with my next door neighbors, on our balconies, I'll soon be on my way out of the country as a "homegrown" national security threat! This is not hyperbole! I live in a "police state" and so does everyone else in the US--if it hasn't reached every citizen directly yet, it will!! 🤬
