I need a break trying to find humor in this clustermuck we are experiencing. Don't get me wrong, I can't look away from watching this trainwreck but I need a rest from documenting the madness. I need to recharge, as they say.
Family will be visiting, so that alone will delight me.
I hope you all stocked up on goods in the U.S. as things really look scary. Things here In Costa Rica are the same, so far. He slapped a 10% tariff on all goods from Costa Rica. Sadly, the US will suffer as their top exported products to the U.S. are medical devices, orthopedic devices, electronic devices, coffee, fruit, and plants, in that order.
I went to Tamarindo today and the place was bustling with tourists. I stopped by a high end hotel packed with gringos to quickly visit a friend. Half the personnel were wearing masks. Next, I went to my fav grocery store nearby, same thing, half were wearing masks. Make sure your vaccinations are up to date.
Taco is still wearing the dreaded cone. The vet saw him today and wants to wait four more days.
The good news is there is a new ATM that you tap! No more eaten cards!
I will jump back online on occasion during my vacay because I'm sure he'll do something monumentally stupid.

Between the tariffs and the tax cuts for the rich, the government will now be taking money (tariffs) directly from our pockets on a daily basis and using it to cover tax cuts for the rich. It is a non-progressive continuous grift of enormous proportion. Like a huge federal sales tax that doesn't pay for anything -- roads, bridges, services, healthcare, safety nets or protective regulations for our food, environment, products, safety or anything else. I want a bumper sticker that says "I hope you are happy now." Whom it's referring to goes without saying.
