How To Demoralize U.S. Troops In One Fell Swoop. SMH.
President Donald Trump's administration has detained dozens of parents and spouses of active-duty U.S. troops as it rolls back immigration protections for military families to pursue its mass deportation agenda, an Associated Press investigation found.

Abdul El-Sayed: “ICE is not very old, it’s 15 years younger than I am. It was a bad experiment, it’s been weaponized to do the worst things and I think we need to abolish it and start from scratch perhaps going back to something like the INS which for a very long time very capably enforced immigration policy without shooting Americans and violating our civil liberties”

Falsely Accused Pool Vandal Is Covering His A**
David Hearn, the former Olympic canoeist charged with vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, has filed a motion seeking to make the dismissal of the charges permanent as President Donald Trump continues to rant about the case and publicly make inaccurate claims about the evidence...The problem is that Pirro’s office filed for dismissal without prejudice, meaning Hearn and the other defendants can legally be charged again.

Below is an example of fine journalism by La Costa Norte de Santa Cruz Informa. The Santa Cruz canton in Costa Rica reminds me of coastal south Florida in the 1970s-1990s, accelerated growth, wealthy tourists and locals wanting drugs, cartels supplying the drugs from the air, sea and highways, and the cocaine cowboys type who turned Miami into the homicide capital of the United States. I've been to this rodeo.

48 HOURS OF VIOLENCE IN SANTA CRUZ

The canton of Santa Cruz experienced one of the most violent days in recent history.
In approximately 48 hours, violence hit our canton with a force rarely seen. The sound of bullets, the pain of families, and uncertainty took over communities that until recently were synonymous with tranquility.

The toll is devastating: five people dead and at least four injured in a series of violent incidents that have instilled fear and indignation among the neighbors.

It all started in Tamarindo, where an armed attack left two men dead and several people injured in the early hours of last Sunday.

On Monday morning, violence shook the canton again when an elderly woman of American nationality was found murdered inside her home in Playa Puerto Viejo. In addition to the crime, it was preliminarily reported that several of her belongings, including her vehicle and cell phones, were stolen.
Hours later, in Conchalito de Cartagena, a young man was shot to death after being intercepted by individuals traveling on a motorcycle. He died on his way to the hospital.

And when it seemed that the day couldn't be more tragic, on the same Monday, another armed attack in the parking lot of a restaurant in Caña Fístula de Santa Cruz claimed the life of a man with the last name Ramírez and seriously injured another with the last name Bermúdez.

These are not just simple statistics. Behind each victim, there is a shattered family, friends who today mourn his absence, and entire communities that feel that violence is getting closer and closer to our quiet canton. It's true, modernity is coming, but also other social scourges that we didn't have here.
From LaCostaNSCInforma, we raise our voices because silence is no longer an option.

We make an urgent call to Ministerio de Seguridad Pública, Presidencia de la República, Fuerza Pública de Costa Rica, and all competent authorities to immediately reinforce security in the canton of Santa Cruz. And to Municipalidad de Santa Cruz, which has the obligation to demand more police presence in our area. We are no longer the quiet little towns of the past.

Our towns cannot continue to face this wave of violence with a police presence that, in the opinion of many neighbors, is insufficient for the reality we live in. We need more officers, more patrols, more controls and concrete actions that bring back tranquility to our communities.

Santa Cruz cannot become news for its homicides. We want it to be recognized again for its culture, its traditions, its beaches, its hard working people and the peace that has always characterized this canton.
Today fear is growing... but the response of the authorities must also grow and we as citizens must also raise our voices.

Because tomorrow could be too late.
