I just learned today that Ruby Bridges went to school for the entire year by herself because every White parent at her school pulled out their kids. All the teachers quit too, and a teacher arrived from Boston to teach Ruby one on one for the entire school year. Rudy ended up with a Boston accent at the end of the year.
