The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) temporarily paused aid in parts of North Carolina this weekend after alleged threats targeted the agency’s personnel aiding in recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene.


There’s now armed militia hunting FEMA workers in North Carolina.

No More Filtered Tap Water For Me

Woke up with stabbing stomach pains 1am Sunday.

9am my daughter returns after speaking with the pharmacist.

Diagnosis: dirty water

Prescription: probiotic and electrolyte water. 

I feel OK now. Just a sore tummy. FYI: that probiotic took the pain away in 10 minutes.


My daughter is on the water board for our little village of around 100 homes. She contacted the operations mgr. and told him what happened to me. He said that since an Oct.6 earthquake, some of  the pipes have been compromised. AND since we had a 6.5 earthquake Saturday morn followed by a 5.0 an hour later. ( I was shaken)  He has more received complaints. He also felt the low availability of water in the aquifer may have been stirred up by the quakes causing residue in the water. In fact, there has been a spate of dozens of earthquakes since Oct. 6. Mostly small ones. Not only are locals worried but so are the scientists. They are occuring about 30km west of Tamarindo up to Sardinal. Yeah, there's a big fault that runs along the coast, part of that ring of fire.

Hurricane Milton Observation

A video I saw on Twitter showed that as the storm was approaching, the waves on the beach were small and it looked as though it was low tide, confusing the videographer. I immediately flashed back to Hurricane Danny in 1997, a much smaller hurricane, which drained/sucked/blew the water out of Mobile Bay causing the tide to be 2 feet lower.

Apparently, Milton did the same, thankfully, reducing that massive surge of water. 🌊
