I'm baaaaaack, sorta.
The air conditioner has landed and it is a monster compared to my dead one.
My electric co-op has a gigantic store where I can purchase anything and put it on my electric bill. So I did. I bought an 18,000 BTU G Air inverter mini split. ICE ICE BABY!
It cost 369,000 colones or $819.97 usd. And 70,000 colones installation or $155.55. Ouch, it may hurt but no more debilitating heat. My whole house is cool now not just one room. I'm living the high life, again!
Mama Toro had a surprise birthday lunch for me. It was so loverley. Balloons, decorations and lots of love. Her husband provided the red snapper he caught the day before, muy fresco! My friend Marcella and Mama Toro's son, Ricardo also attended. And the cake was a masterpiece.
I have no idea who orchestrated it other than being told it was Osama Bin Laden. But living through the Trump years I am open to believing anything.When 9-11 happened I just knew that George W. Bush, the evangelical, would use it as an excuse to attack Iraq. The guys who flew the planes into the twin towers were Saudis. And yet, Saudis were allowed to flee the USA on that date, 9-11, after the twin towers fell. Say what?George W. Bush took our grief from 9-11 and flew it into Iraq. Joe Wilson tried to stop him by verifying that there was no evidence of yellow cake being sought by Saddam Hussein. Remember the old weapons of mass destruction ruse? So what do they do? They outed Wilson's wife, a CIA agent, Valerie Plame. Yeah, maybe you saw the movie.
But I always believed Bush wanted to finish his father's invasion of Iraq. He said just that, many times.
And now, 25 years later, Bush showed up at the 9-11 memorial. That made me sick.

And Trump claiming he was scooped up by rescuers on 9-11. What a liar.

ReplyDeleteGazillions of years ago I took a couple summer vacations out East (I'm in California) (and no, we DO NOT call it "Cally" here so please stop it with that BS), in the SE actually. And holy cow it was SO hot & humid there. Well one relative got ahold of the radio (..yes: The. One. Radio.), found a station which played bland pop music - which TBH was the best overall for our collective crowed - and that Steve Winwood song cam around roughly every 45 minutes.
Well, as much as you might think that would be a horrible memory, I only hold fond memories of that time. Ahhhhh..... Aaaaa / Cccccc.... oh and here's Steve again...
Lisa, You should hold a special fundraiser to pay for your air conditioning. You deserve to be cool enough to keep supplying us with a great blog. I know plenty of us would be generous enough to help you survive to produce it.
