Barron may only be a half-brother and they were not raised together, but this is the family their Daddy built and even a fake showing of caring would have been appropriate.
ReplyDelete2. Having been a rabid Chiefs fan for 58 years, I am concerned that, like any other group of human beings, my team has its oddities. I listened to Butker's 21-minute speech and, being an old speech teacher, I rated it an A-. He was clear and strong and said exactly the things that audience wanted to hear and, for the most part, they were in agreement with everything he said anyway. Of course I was put off by the things he said, but I am not the demographic that was in the room. What I find most amazing, as an atheist, was the amount of nastiness I felt he directed at his fellow Catholics who do not believe in the exact Catholicism he does. He repeatedly told parish priests to "stay in their lane" and stop being flexible. He told everyone they should attend only churches that practice TLM...Traditional Latin Mass. He pissed off the Benedictine Sisters who founded the school he was speaking to and, most astonishing, the ultimate parish priest in his faith, Pope Francis, is one who does not want to stay in Butker's lane. The Pope believes that rigidity is "suicidal" for the Catholic Church. I wonder how the Pope feels about Butker's little foray outside of his own lane...kicking a ball on the Lord's sabbath. 🤔
