Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, discussing Hurricane Milton at a Thursday press conference, called out a Wall Street analyst who predicted the storm would cost the state $50 billion...“How the hell would a Wall Street analyst be able to know? It’s been dark all day. What, you’re just going to know that you’re going to do? I mean, like, give me a break on some of this stuff,” DeSantis said.

Hurricane Milton Observation
A video I saw on Twitter showed that as the storm was approaching, the waves on the beach were small and it looked as though it was low tide, confusing the videographer. I immediately flashed back to Hurricane Danny in 1997, a much smaller hurricane, which drained/sucked/blew the water out of Mobile Bay causing the tide to be 2 feet lower.
Apparently, Milton did the same, thankfully, reducing that massive surge of water. 🌊
