What We Have Here Is A Lack of Critical Thinking

The Trump administration touted last week’s raid at a partially constructed Hyundai-LG car battery plant in Georgia as a victory for American labor and evidence that he won’t tolerate unauthorized workers.

But immigration and manufacturing experts say the episode lays bare how U.S. immigration rules hamper foreign companies from bringing in workers crucial to building modern manufacturing centers that President Donald Trump and his predecessors have pursued and that would ultimately employ tens of thousands of American workers.

The Hyundai raid in a nutshell went like this:

- Visa applicants: Hey State Department, can we get approved so we can work at the Hyundai plant? 

- State: Sure 

- Visa applicants: Hey CBP, we're seeking entry to work at the Hyundai plant. 

- CBP: Ok 

- Visa applicants: *start working in the Hyundai plant for several months*

- ICE:  You're not allowed to do that. We're arresting, detaining, and removing you filthy law breakers from the country.

An outbreak of salmonella tied to a home-delivery meal service has sickened people in at least 10 states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The source of the outbreak is believed to be several varieties of ready-to-eat meals produced by Metabolic Meals, the CDC says. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has opened “Deportation Depot” migrant detention center in Florida, a follow-up to the embattled “Alligator Alcatraz.”

“Deportation Depot” is located about 45 miles away from Jacksonville in the community of Sanderson, at the site of the Baker Correctional Institution.

The facility has the capacity for 1,500 detainees, Fox News Digital reported. As of Friday, a little over 100 migrants had been moved there.
