Florida county Republican Party votes to ban the COVID-19 vaccine

The "Ban the jab" resolution passed with a majority vote in the Lee County Republican Party and will now head to Governor Ron DeSantis' desk.

This comes after a member of the Lee County Republican Party wrote a resolution for the executive committee to consider. Joe Sansone argued the risks of the COVID vaccine are not worth it.

A train derailed in Nebraska early Tuesday, according to Union Pacific Railroad. About 31 cars carrying coal derailed in Gothenburg, Nebraska, the railroad said in a statement to CBS News.

No one was injured, cleanup has begun, and the three tracks near the derailment, which occurred around 1:45 a.m., were reopened at around 8 a.m.

Former President Trump plans to visit the town of East Palestine, Ohio, where a train derailment led to the release of toxic chemicals, next week. 

Trump posted on Truth Social in response to a report that he was planning to make the trip that the residents of East Palestine are “Great people who need help, NOW!” He later posted that he will visit on Wednesday.

EPA Fully Blames Norfolk Southern For The Mess They Created

The Environmental Protection Agency is ordering Norfolk Southern to clean up and pay for the clean up costs after one of its trains derailed and spilled chemicals in East Palestine, Ohio. 

The legally binding order will require the company to identify and clean up contaminated soil and water, reimburse the EPA for the cleaning that it is doing and attend public meetings at the agency’s request, according to a press release from the agency.
