25th Birthday of AllHatNoCattle

Twenty five years ago I watched the late great Governor Ann Richards on C-SPAN say that George W. Bush was All Hat No Cattle. And the rest is history, a documented history with humor.

On this date, 25 years ago, I was shocked that my governor, Jeb Bush, ignored his own Florida Supreme Court to recount every vote. Instead, Jeb went to the US Supreme Court to stop the recount and he won while the rest of us lost so much that day, such as election integrity.

The media breezed right past that event. My vote was not recounted. I wanted every vote to be counted in future elections and the only way I knew how, was through a website.

Let us not forget that Jeb Bush changed voting around the USA. Prior to the 2000 election Jeb purged voter rolls, about 40K black voters. Many red states followed Jeb's lead and purged their voter rolls after the 2000 election. He also embraced the crazy evangelicals and guns.

George Bush and my late husband were very similar in some respects, both were from privilege, both  had a drinking/cocaine problem, and both were liars, so I found Bush easy to read. But this website is what helped me get through those awful years of 2 wars and an economy Bush crashed and the craziness and cruelty of my late husband.

Bush's last day as president.

In 2002 I began my move to Costa Rica to escape the inevitable demise of the USA. Best decision I ever made. Costa Rica cured my cancer in 2010 and made my late husband responsible for his actions in 2011, neither of which the USA even attempted to do.

It has been an honor to serve you for a quarter of a century. You all kept me sane and alive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I do know that I won't do another 25 years of this but maybe I have a couple of years left at my old age. I sure hope so.

The media dropped the ball in 2000 and has continued down that same road. Below is a small example of censorship I experienced this morn on Yahoo comments about the Jeffrey Epstein file photos. The irony.

It's the media, stupid! - me

Below is a clay and resin sculpture I did in 1988 titled, Blood Money.

At least, in the last 25 years, we had twelve years of Obama and Biden.

ALL HAT NO CATTLE!

Peace and quiet.

  2. Fantastic! Congratulations for helping to keep so many of us sane during the George W Bush years and the first 4 years of Trump. Now, we are in an even more dire situation than what we lived through during the Bush years and round one of Trump. You have held steady with reality humor. I'm 86 now, and I've been with you from the Bush years. I pray that you will be able to continue your blog far into the future. I'm being selfish now, and I'm sorry, but my days would be darker without you.

  8. My belief in this government was crushed the day the Supreme Court stopped the vote count in Florida. It has only continued downhill since then. Gerrymander your neighbor’s vote away.
Thank you for shining a light on the fools on the hill.

  11. I didn't know about AHNC until after Terry Coppage passed away in in 2014. He was the blogger "Bartcop" whose writings I read each and every day. I felt lost and asked on the remembrances page his wife set up where would I go to fill the void. She recommended you! Keep going as long as your sanity allows!
